A paper investigating the Scriptural understanding of sexuality with a view to more completely and honestly understand how our faith compels us to respond to homosexuals, gay people, lesbians, and bisexuals was presented to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada in March 2005. This paper was requested as the ELCIC wrestles with the issue of whether to bless same-sex unions.
The Saskatchewan Synod of the ELCIC has recently proposed a new policy that has wide ramifications on the entire understanding of Call, Ordination, and Ministry (at least within the confines of the synod's boundaries). A .pdf file of a brief regarding this proposed policy is available here.
