Wildlife

Grasslands National Park has some wildlife not available anywhere else in Canada. It is home to the only Black-tailed Prairie Dog colonies in Canada. It is home to rare Burrowing Owls, Greater Sage Grouses, Sage Thrashers, Mountain Plovers, and Sprague's Pipits. As of winter 2005-2006, Grasslands National Park will soon be home to a herd of prairie bison. It has a large population of Golden Eagles and other birds of prey. It has other carnivores such as the Swift Fox.

The following are some of the animals we saw in our few days at Grassland National Park:
